Sometimes we need a break from all the work we have to do and watching a movie or a tv show is what I usually do to relax. They take my mind off university and all the stresses in my daily life.
One of my favorite type of movies to watch are teen dramas set in high schools or university. These are perfect for a study break. You do not have to think too much and, even though they can be cliche and super dumb, they are fun. So here is a list of movies that are set in college or high school you can watch alone or with your roommates:
1. HANDSOME DEVIL

"A music-mad 16-year-old outcast at a rugby-mad boarding school forms an unlikely friendship with his dashing new roommate."
To me this is such a cozy film to watch, so pure and fun to watch. Set in a boarding school we follow two boys trying to figure out who they are. Like most of us students-
2. DEAD POETS SOCIETY

"At an elite, old-fashioned boarding school in New England, a passionate English teacher inspires his students to rebel against convention and seize the potential of every day, courting the disdain of the stern headmaster."
This is one of my favorite films. The characters, the set, the message. It gets me everytime.
It teaches about following our passions and to enjoy the day.
3. 17 AGAIN

"On the brink of a midlife crisis, 30-something Mike O’Donnell wishes he could have a “do-over.” And that’s exactly what he gets when he wakes up one morning to find he’s 17 years old again. With his adult mind stuck inside the body of a teenager, Mike actually has the chance to reverse some decisions he wishes he’d never made. But maybe they weren’t so bad after all."
Zac Efron, what else can I say.
4. WILD CHILD

Rebellious 16 year old Poppy from Mailibu is sent to an English boarding school. Realising her Father isn’t coming back to rescue her she tries to get expelled.
Another boarding school movie. This one is a classic and if you have not watched it yet what are you waiting for!
5. THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN

Two high school girls are best friends until one dates the other’s older brother, who is totally his sister’s nemesis.
This is a perfect high school movie. The main character is so relatable and extremely funny to follow.
6. EASY A

"Olive, an average high school student, sees her below-the-radar existence turn around overnight once she decides to use the school’s gossip grapevine to advance her social standing. Now her classmates are turning against her and the school board is becoming concerned, including her favorite teacher and the distracted guidance counselor. With the support of her hilariously idiosyncratic parents and a little help from a long-time crush, Olive attempts to take on her notorious new identity and crush the rumor mill once and for all."
7. LADY BIRD

A California high school student plans to escape from her family and small town by going to college in New York, much to the disapproval of wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mother.
This is a pretty well know film since it was nominated for an oscar but if you have not seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it.
8. THE PRINCE AND ME

A fairy tale love-story about pre-med student Paige who falls in love with a Danish Prince “Eddie” who refused to follow the traditions of his parents and has come to the US to quench his thirst for rebellion. Paige and Edward come from two different worlds, but there is an undeniable attraction between them.
This is the most cliche and unrealistic of this list. But in my defense, it is so easy and so fun to watch I couldn´n not put it on this list.
9. THE BREAKFAST CLUB

Five disparate high school students meet in Saturday detention, and discover they have a lot more in common than they thought.
The most 90´s feel movie out there. 5 teenagers, all different from each other bonding. This is a classic for a reason.
10. SYDNEY WHITE

A modern retelling of Snow White set against students in their freshman year of college in the greek system.
Every thing with Amanda Bynes is a favorite. I decided not to include She´s the Man and share this one which is not as popular.
